NPP takes out car rally to mark 69th Accession Day

Jammu, Oct 27: Raising patriotic slogans on the occasion of 69 Accession Day of Jammu & Kashmir with the Union of India, a large number of Panthers Party activists took out a large car rally in the city of temples here today.
The rally commenced from Muthi near Directorate of School Education and it was spearheaded by  Harshdev Singh Chairman NPP, Balwant Singh Mankotia State president and Yashpal Kundal State president Young Panthers.
The rally after passing through Janipur, Rehari Chungi, Exchange Road, Parade, Pacca Danga, Jain Bazar, Purani Mandi, City Chowk, Rajinder Bazar, Shahidi Chowk, Residency Road, Gumat, finally culminated at Maharaja Hari Singh Chowk Jammu where the Party leaders hoisted the National flag with full National honours and addressed the gathering.
Speaking on the occasion Harshdev Singh reminisced that Maharaja Hari Singh on October 26, 1947 signed the Instrument of Accession at  Amar Palace in Jammu which was duly accepted and signed by Lord Mountbaten the then Governor General of India on  October 27, 1947 in Delhi. He said that by virtue of this instrument, the State of J&K became an integral part of India.
Mr Singh exhorted the people to celebrate the Accession day on October 27 with fervor, gaiety and enthusiasm just like Independence Day and Republic day. He said that under the Govt of India Act 1935, the rulers of the various States were alone competent to take a decision with respect to the accession of their respective States. He  maintained that Maharaja Hari Singh having taken a voluntary, absolute and unconditional decision to accede to the Indian Union, the resultant accession fulfilled the legal requirements and hence is final, irrevocable and irreversible.
Mr Mankotia and Mr Kundal also spoke on the occasion and  criticized Pakistan for targeting border villages all along the IB and LoC recently. The leaders said that Pakistan should be given a befitting reply  and taught an appropriate lesson for its misadventures.
Prominent among those who led the  rally included Bansi Lal Sharma, Jagdev Singh, Rajesh Padgotra, Manju Singh, Kesar Praveen, Shyam Gorkha and Gagan Pratap Singh.
