BJP organizes programme on Maharishi Valmiki

JAMMU, Oct 27: BJP Anusuchit Jaati Morcha organized a programme at Party Headquarters, where in satsang depicting the life of Maharishi Balmiki was organized and attended by a large number of party leaders and members of Balmiki Samaj.
The programme was organized under the leadership of Morcha president Surinder Bahgat.
The program started with garlanding the portrait of Maharishi Valmiki by BJP State President Jugal Kishore Sharma, State general secretaries Ashok, Koul Sardar Narinder Singh and Munish Sharma, MLA Dr. Krishan Lal senior leaders Bansi Lal Bharti, Yudhvir Sethi, ND Rajwal, Surinder Bhagat and others.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, while paying his respects to Maharishi Valmiki, said that this great saint did a lot for the country and the society and gave a real religious granth called Ramayan. He said that Valmiki is also quoted to be the contemporary of Lord Rama. Lord Rama met Valmiki during his period of exile and interacted with him. Valmiki gave shelter to Sita in his hermitage when Lord Rama banished her. Kusha and Lava, the twin sons of Lord Rama were born to Sita in this hermitage. Valmiki taught Ramayan to Kush and Lava, who later sang the divine story in Ayodhya during the Asvamedha Yajna congregation. He impressed that the young generations should be taught the life of this great saint and follow the path shown by him.
Jugal Kishore Sharma also felicitated All J&K Valmiki Sabha Chairman Ajit Gill, while SC Morcha State President Surinder Bhagat and MLA Krishan Lal Bhagat felicitated Valmiki Samaj Women Wing President Chand Rani.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Morcha general secretary Puran Chand Bhagat.
On concluding of the program, Halwa was also distributed.
Sakina Bano, Ashok Kaul, MLA Dr. Krishan Lal Bhagat and Surinder Bhagat also spoke on the life of Maharishi Valmiki.
Suresh Jamwal, Prof. Virender Gupta, Karan Singh, Sheela Handoo, Karunesh Gupta, Ashok Gandhi, Bansi Lal Choudhary, Anuradha Charak, Rekha Mahajan, Ajay Vaid, Jeet Angral, Gorkhu Ram, Mohan Lal Pawar, Raj Kumar, Naval Bali attended the program.
