JAMMU, Oct 27: A bike-borne youth was killed this evening at Bishnah area of city outskirts when a rashly driven bus hit his bike while overtaking.
According to a police spokesperson, the youth identified as Devraj (28) son of Bishan Dass, a resident of Partap Singh Pura, suffered serious injuries when a without number bike he was riding on, was hit by a speeding bus bearing registration number JK02E-8103 at Lower Canal area of Bishnah.
In unconscious condition, the injured youth was shifted to Sub-District Hospital Bishnah, where doctors declared him as brought dead. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for conducting postmortem tomorrow.
A case in this connection was registered at police station Bishnah and both the vehicles involved in the accident seized while efforts were on to nab the accused bus driver, who fled from the spot after committing crime.
