JAMMU, Oct 29: The State Government today extended OPD timings upto 4pm in Medical/Dental Colleges in Jammu as well as Srinagar with immediate effect.
“In order to cater to the increasing flow of patients and to provide timely and quality health care services to the patients in the Medical/Dental Colleges under Health and Medical Education Department, Principals of Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu/Srinagar and Government Dental College, Jammu/Srinagar shall inter alia ensure that the OPD services are available in these institutions on daily basis upto 4 pm”, the order issued by Secretary to Government Health and Medical Education Department said.
The order further reads that all the senior consultants/ consultants shall conduct rounds of the indoor wards of the hospitals in the evening for the convenience and examination of the indoor patients without fail.
The order further said that verifiable reporting mechanisms in this regard shall be devised within next three days by the concerned Principals/Medical Superintendents and their compliance ensured, under intimation to Administrative Department.
