JAMMU, Oct 29: Inspector General of  Police, Jammu Zone, Danesh Rana, reviewed  the  law and order situation and prevailing security scenario in view of Darbar move in a meeting of Jammu based Police officers including SSP Kathua and Samba here today.
During the meeting the IGP reviewed the deployment  plan of  Jammu district for Civil Secretariat, CM route as well as other Darbar move offices/colonies/quarters located in Jammu city for which detailed briefing was given by the SSP, Jammu.
The other police officers also briefed the IGP about the available inputs and their assessment over the security and law and order situation in Jammu region. They briefed about the arrangements being made by them in enhancing the security in  winter capital.
After thread-bare discussion,  Mr Rana directed the  officers to ensure enhanced security measures in district Jammu and border area. He asked SSP Jammu to ensure adequate security arrangements for Civil Secretariat, adequate law and order arrangements at various Chowks, junctions and other important areas in Jammu around Civil Secretariat. He said the checking and frisking system at `Nakas’ in city and its outskirts needs to be geared up and made purposeful.
SSP Jammu has been advised to direct all Zonal SPs to take special care of traffic jams especially at Red Light points during the movement of VIPs so that during stoppage at such points, these VIPs do to become target of  anti-national and anti-social elements. He also directed police officers to ensure that checking of hotels and lodges be stepped up.
District police chiefs were advised to brief their SDPOs and SHOs to mobilize their all resources for generation of actionable information so that any minor issues related to law and order is addressed at appropriate level immediately.
SSP Traffic, Jammu was directed to brief the traffic staff being deployed at such points properly about their duties and how to deal during the movement of VIPs. He also advised to keep adequate number of recovery vans  at appropriate locations and special care be taken on the places which are hub of traffic jamming.
