JAMMU, Oct 29: Three KP organizations All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC), Sampooran Kashmir Sangathan (SKS) and National Peace Movement (NPM) have expressed grave concern over rigid attitude of the Government and Relief organization towards the displaced pandits from Valley.
In a joint statement issued here, today ASKPC chief, Ravinder Kumar Raina, SKS president Rakesh Koul and NPM president M K Koul alleged that the displaced Pandits are subjected to many problems and hardships by the Relief authorities.
They in an appeal to Government they urged it to stop passing of draconian orders and restore the old system for issuing ration coupons failing which entire community will come to streets and protest against the Government.
They said that there is already a lot of resentment among the community as both Central and State Governments are sleeping over the demands of Pandits which have compounded during last 26 years of exile.
Meanwhile, Relief holders of Jagti led by Ajay Bhat and Sunil Pandita have also demanded settlement of long standing issues of inmates of Jagti township. They also demanded that ration be made available for 15 days of the month at Ration depots and monthly coupon system be withdrawn immediately.
BJP Displaced Unit general secretary Ravinder Kuchroo also urged the Relief organization not to adopt double standards in distribution of ration coupons. He said when the migrants from majority community have been issued one time coupons why the Pandits are asked to collect the same every month when it is difficult for aged and infirm people of the community to report at relief zones for this purpose every month.
