Law Officers call on Bukhari

SRINAGAR, Oct 30: All Law Officers of Srinagar Wing of the High Court, called on the Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Syed Basharat Bukhari, here.
Advocate General, Jammu & Kashmir, Jahangir Iqbal Ganai and Secretary Law, Mohammad Ashraf Mir were also present in the meeting.
Law Officers presented before the Minister various issues with regard to office accommodation, space constraints and provision of staff in the High Court Complex.
The Minister assured that all their issues will be addressed in a time bound manner. He said in order to meticulously address the issue of space constraint at Advocate General’s office in the High Court Complex, an Architect will be sent by the Law Department with whom a team Advocate General and at least three senior Law Officers will discuss a futuristic plan so that space and land could be used judiciously.
The Minister also stressed upon the Law Officers to redouble their efforts while defending the State cases before the Courts, so as to protect the interests of the State in the best possible manner.
Law Minister said that the Department is also in a process of formulating Rules for appointment of Law Officers in the High Court, Public Prosecutors and Standing Counsels before sub ordinate courts.
