17 injured as bus rolls down

JAMMU, Oct 31: About 17 people mostly school and college students were injured today when a mini-bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and overturned in Sidhra area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, a mini-bus bearing registration No JK02BA-6865, which was on its way from village Kana Chadgal towards city, rolled down the road near Tawi apartments at Bajalta Morh, resulting into minor injuries to 17 passengers on board.
He said that the mishap occurred at about 7 am today due to negligence of the driver, who was driving the vehicle rashly.
He said that all the injured were immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where after providing first aid they were discharged.
The injured have been identified as Mohan Singh (42), Tamana (17), Anjali (15), Rubina (17), Usha (18), Vaishali (20), Jyoti (17), Palvi (17), Komal (17), Rekha (18), Swati (17), Khursheed Ahmed (32), Vishal Verma (17), Adarsh Kumar (15), Mukesh Sharma (17), Ravi Kumar (19) and Pushpa Devi (35).
A case in this connection has been registered at concerned police station against the accused mini-bus driver, who managed to flee from the spot leaving behind the vehicle.
