BLSKS stages musical play ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padao’

JAMMU, Oct 31: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sanasthan (BLSKS) today staged a  musical play “Beti Bachao Beti Padao”  in collaboration with  Unison Cultural Troupe , Sangam True Art Production and  ESRM   at Durga Bhawan Janipur Jammu.
The programme was inaugurated by V K Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India, in the presence of Dr Anju Dogra of Health Department,   Vinod Dogra, Chief Service Engineer Excide and Romesh Chander, Event Director.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Magotra underlined the importance of staging such plays in all parts of the State to generate awareness among the masses against various social evils. He also urged the artists/cultural organizations to contribute in enriching the cultural heritage of the country and inspiring the younger generation to follow the footprints of their elders in preserving the composite culture of the Nation.
“Beti Bachao Beti Padao”   Musical Play, written, produced and directed by M L Dogra (chairman BLSKS) reflects the agony of two conservative families who are bent upon getting their daughter and son married at tender age, ignoring the advice of intellectuals of the society. The   marriage turns into a disaster making the life of both bride and groom miserable. Even bride ends her life owing to pangs of pregnancy at childhood after delivery of a dead baby. The cries of baby girl in womb of the mother caution all of us in the society, “Don’t kill me. I will be your helping hand in old age”.
The programme commenced with welcome song presented by the artists of BLSKS and welcome address by  M L Dogra , who explained aims and objectives of the programme.
The singers, musician and actors who performed, were Usha Handoo, JK Raina,  Raju Bajgal (Instrument), Rajat Verma, Ghanshyam Murari, Ramji Kumar Yadav,  Rajni Gupta, Neelam Gandotra,  Hem Raj, Kamli Devi,  Sant Das (Tabla ), K K Joshi, M C Kotwal, Devam Jandiyal,  Rakshit Sharma, Sanjiv Kumar, Dhruv Pandit, Pranavi Khajuria, Rajanya Khajuria, Samarth Gupta, Sanam Gupta, Vansh Raina, Darsh, Shaksham Khajuria,   Abhyud, Rajveer,   Vandana Gupta, Anantika Sharma, L-Danika, Bhumika Chib, Neelam Chib, Ayush Bhat, Rahul Wanchoo  and  Mohd Afroz  while Master Deepak Kumar was the programe  coordinator.
