Free diagnostic tests in Govt hospitals soon: Lal Singh

JAMMU, Nov 3: Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Choudhary Lal Singh stressed that a proposal for providing facility for free diagnostic tests in Government hospitals is under active consideration of the Government.
The Minister said this while addressing a large gathering after inaugurating blood donation camp at Sub-District Hospital at Akhnoor.
The blood donation camp was organized by the Convenor of Bajrang Dal, Akhnoor Balkar Singh in the hospital premises. About 350 local youth donated blood during the camp.
Vice Chairman JK Kissan Advisory Board, Dr. Daljeet Singh Chib, Director Health Services Dr. Baljeet Singh Pathania, Mission Director NHM Dr. Mohan Singh, Controller Drugs and Food Nazir Wani, Deputy Director Drugs and Food Lotika Khajuria, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Robinder Khajuria besides other senior officers of Health Department were present on the occasion.
Choudhary Lal Singh while speaking on the occasion said that such camps will help in saving the precious human lives and urged that more and more people should participate in such events to serve humanity.
The Minister informed that a new 200-bedded hospital building is under construction at Mawa Karora village in Akhnoor, adding that after inauguration of the new hospital building, the healthcare facilities would be provided to the people of the area with all infrastructure facilities at their doorstep. He said work on 50-bedded Primary Health Centre at Bhalwal Brahmana and doctors quarters at Sub-District Hospital Jourian is going on expeditiously.
Choudhary Lal Singh directed Director Health Services to conduct surprise checks of different hospitals and issue duty roaster of the medicos and paramedics for the information of general public.
