Discontinuance of interviews for group D,C,B posts w.e.f Jan 16, as announced by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is indeed a historical one and considered a long stride in the direction for emancipation from corruption, favouritism and nepotism like evils in the process of recruitment. Practice of mass corruption through Dalals (Brokers) that has been operative every where, put many deserving but poor people out of line. Evaluating a candidate by the process of interview is definitely logical and meaningful, but the system as has been in the country since long remained highly dissatisfying and breaking the parameters of justice. Still the element of transparency is of vital significance in ensuring fair field. The vision and determination of Narendra Modi is unique. Corruption means characterlessness or misuse of power. Power generally corrupts a man and absolute over absolutely.
