KATHUA, Nov 4: The irate residents of Tara Nagar Hatli Morh today blocked the National Highway for one hour from 11 am to 12 noon in protest against the power failure in the area.
The traffic was paralyzed on the NH and there were huge queues of vehicles up to Lakhanpur. The protesters said that entire Tara Nagar has plunged into darkness for last three days as the local transformer developed a snag. The authorities failed to replace the transformer and the locals were left with no alternative but to block Highway to turn the attention of the authorities towards their problem.
Later DySP Headquarter, Ajay Sharma and Tehsildar Kathua reached the spot and pacified the agitating people and the Highway was opened for vehicular traffic.
They assured the people that the transformer will be replaced soon and their problem will be solved.
