6 bovine animals rescued, 1 held

RAJOURI, Nov 4: Police foiled bovine smuggling bid with the arrest of one person from Mehra Nagrota area, falling under the jurisdiction of Rajouri Police Station and rescued six animals.
Sources said, a police team led by SHO, Chaman Gorkha on a specific information laid a naka at Mehra Nagrota near Rajouri last night. After seeing the police party, the bovine smugglers tried to escape, but were chased and arrested.
The arrested smuggler has been identified as Mohd Ayub, son of  Sallah Mohd, resident of Mehra Nagrota. The police rescued six animals from his possession. He was on way from Rajouri to Srinagar via Thannamandi-Mughal Road.
A case FIR No. 549/2015 under Section 188 RPC, 3 PCA has been registered at Police Station, Rajouri in this connection.
