JAMMU, Nov 4: Police arrested a notorious bootlegger along with illicit liquor pouches from Deriyan area, falling under the jurisdiction of Khour police station.
As per police sources, police team from Khour police station laid a naka near Deriyan and intercepted a person on suspicious grounds.
During checking, police recovered 17 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of the man and nabbed him on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Sikandar Singh, son of Suram Singh, a resident of Deriyan.
A case under FIR Number75/15 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Khour police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Khour police station SI Mohammad Iqbal Chagatta made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Naresh Singh, SP Rural Rajeev Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
