NSF stages protest outside JU Controller Examinations office

JAMMU, Aug 28: Agitated over the lack of response from the Controller of Examination on the issue of non-declaration of results of the Department of Hindi 1st and 3rd Semester, the activists of National Secular Forum held protest here today.
Large number of NSF activists shouting slogans surrounded the Controller Examination and turned violent when Controller and OSD Non-Professional was not present in his Office. They raised the slogan against Controller who was not present in office for non functioning of examination wing as it has not come up with the result of exams which were held 9 months back.
State vice- president NSF Surjit Choudhary who led the students with other NSF activists alleged that the students would not be able to concentrate on their studies because of the delay.
Surjit Choudhary further said that examinations of MA 2nd and 4th Semesters of various subjects were held in the month of April, but so far the examination wing has failed to declare the result, which has left the students in the lurch.
He said that it is easy to make academic calendar but to implement it, it needs proper management, adding that University has failed at all fronts in managing management properly. He further said that this will not be tolerated and NSF is going to start agitation in this regard.
Among those who were present in the protest included, Ravi Choudhary, Rahul Sharma, Sukhdev Singh, Balveer Kumar, Narinder Singh, Jag Mohan, N.Sangotra, Vikram Madyal, and others.
Meanwhile, when contacted Prof Manoj K Dhar, Controller Examinations said that the process is on and we have already declared results of some of these semesters and in some courses the number of students is much high and it would take some more time to declare the result of those courses.
