MithunBorn on October 12, 1979, Mithun Manhas is Indian first-class cricketer who plays for Chennai Super Kings as an all-rounder. A right-handed batsman, who can also bowl right-arm off-break and can keep wickets. He is a player in the Indian Premier League represented the Delhi Daredevils. In the fourth season of IPL he was contracted for US$260,000 by Pune Warriors. In the seventh season of the Indian Premier League, he was contracted by the Chennai Super Kings. In September 2015, Manhas joined Jammu and Kashmir cricket team for 2015-16 Ranji Trophy season. Mithun Manhas has been a tower of strength for Delhi in domestic cricket. A middle-order batsman who occasionally bowls off-spin and can keep wickets as well, Manhas, has been one of Delhi’s most prominent cricketers since his first-class debut in 1997/98.
With players like Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir busy with national duties, Mithun Manhas captained Delhi for most periods since the start of this millennium. Whenever Gambhir was absent, he led the side and played a very crucial role in Delhi’s triumphant Ranji campaign in 2007/08, where they won the trophy after a gap of 16 years.  Manhas’ personal contribution during that season also deserves praise. He scored 598 runs that season, averaging just a shade below 50. He has played for three different franchises in the Indian Premier League – Delhi Daredevils, Pune Warriors India and Chennai Super Kings.  With just under 8000 runs in Ranji games, Manhas is currently fourth on the list of the highest run-scorers in Ranji history, not far behind Hrishikesh Kanitkar in the third place.
