Educational institutions celebrate crackers free Diwali

JAMMU, Nov 7: Various educational institutes in and around Jammu today celebrated Diwali, the festival of lights, in a befitting manner giving a message to the society to celebrate the Festival without crackers.
The students of GD Goenka Public School, Jammu celebrated Diwali with great enthusiasm in Goenkan Acres. Director of the School, Sanya Bansal, Dr RP Singh, Principal of the school as well as teachers also participated in the celebration. The celebrations started with an enactment of the epic ‘Ramayana’ during which the students presented a colourful mythological bonanza of different phases from the life of Lord Rama. Many Inter-House activities including face painting on the theme Ramayana, Toran making and Rangoli competition were also organized on the occasion.
Delhi Public School, Jammu today organized a thrilling Diwali function in their school premises which started with lighting of the auspicious lamp by the Principal, Ruchi Chabra followed by invocation to Lord Ganesha through a Vandana. The primary students gave foot tapping dance performance on the song “Happy Diwali” while senior students danced on the beats of “Dhol”. MK Ajatshatru Singh, president, Rajput Charitable Trust, Ritu Singh, PVC DPS Jammu and SS Sodhi, Director, DPS Jammu, were also present.
The Diwali was celebrated with great pomp and show in SM Shishu Niketan Higher Secondary School, Anand Nagar, Patta Bohri, Jammu. Besides staff and students, Managing Director of the school, Parneesh Mahajan, was also present. A special assembly was held in which the teachers advised the students to celebrate smokeless Diwali. An Inter-House Rangoli making competition was organized on the occasion. The students also lit the Diyas and candles.
A function regarding Diwali celebration was also organized in National Public Playway School, Shiv Nagar. The programme started with ‘Deep Prajwalan’. A fancy dress show and rangoli competition was also organized. The students also presented skits, sang poems and danced on the beat of ‘dhols’. Principal of the school, Vaishno Devi, was also present.
Stepping Stone Playway School celebrated Diwali in its premises with religious gaiety. The students prepared colorful diyas and decorated them with stars and sparkles. Later, along with teachers they performed Vandana of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi. Teachers distributed sweets and chocolates among students. Director, VK Sharma and Principal, Anjali Sharma advised the students to celebrate crackers free Diwali.
Euro Care celebrated the festivals of lights with great enthusiasm. Anita Sharma, SSP Jammu, was the chief guest of the function. Parents, grandparents and kids participated in the function. A fun game for kids and their parents, a magic show and a lucky draw were the main attraction of the function.
Diwali was celebrated in Doon International School with full fervor and zeal, today. A candle and diya decorating competition was organized on the occasion. Principal, Vikesh Kaur, advised the students to celebrate pollution free Diwali by not bursting crackers.
