Driver arrested for smuggling bovines to Valley

JAMMU, Nov 10: Jhajjar Kotli police arrested a driver for smuggling 13 bovine animals to Valley.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Jhajjar Kotli police station laid a naka at Suketar Domail and signaled a truck bearing registration number JK02AL-7095 to stop for checking.
On seeing police team, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police rescued four bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Chaman Lal son of Ghushu Ram of Akhnoor.
The accused was smuggling the bovine animals to Valley, but active cops of Jhajjar Kotli police foiled his bid.
A case under Case FIR No 128/15 under Section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered against the accused at Jhajjar Kotli police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli police station Inspector Ravinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma, SP Rural Rajeev Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
