JAMMU, Nov 10: Dr Kamal Sharma, President All Artists Welfare Association Jammu (AAWAJ) along with the other members of the Association met with Dr. Aziz Hajni , Secretary , J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages here today.
Dr. Sharma urged the Secretary that the rent of the K L Saigal Hall be slashed down so that the artists’ fraternity have a access to organize the literary and cultural activates for the promotion and development of art and culture. Moreover the rent charges should be feasible to the cultural activists.
He also apprised the Secretary, about the difficulties being faced by the young and talented artist who could never get an opportunity even once in a year to be booked by the Academy and they have lot of grievances against it. He also stressed upon to initiate balanced cultural policy so that equal share is given to all the districts in term of equal distribution of funds. Sharma also stressed that there is urgent need to constitute the various committees for the transparent and democratic functioning of the Academy.
The Secretary assured them early solution of their grievances.
The prominent among those were present including Seema Dogra, Sudesh Manhas, Sudesh Kumari, Santosh Bandral, Kanav Chopra, BasantVijogi, Akram Khan, Hardeep Singh, Ravinder Sharma, Kulbir Kour (Rani) Ashok Bhasin, Gautam Sharma, Gautam Kumar, Sandeep Manhas, Sandeesh, Shubam Nag besides, Dr. Baljeet Raina Vice Chairman AWAJ and Dr. Hanny Singh.
