JAMMU, Nov 12: Kashmiri Pandit leader and a well known scholar Prof A N Sadhu has made an appeal to the State Government to conduct the interviews of displaced Pandit youth who have applied for various posts through SSRB at Jammu as it is very difficult as well as very costly for these youth to visit Kashmir to participate in these interviews.
In a statement issued here, today he said that the displaced youth who are already in a distress due to lack of resources can’t afford the accommodation and traveling charges to Valley hence the interviews for them be conducted in Jammu only.
He also expressed his dismay over the arbitrary action of some zonal officers asking the migrants attaining the age of 60 years to produce living certificates and said this is quite unfortunate. He said likewise the girl children in ration cards are being asked to furnish unmarried certificates. He urged the Relief Organization to create a proper mechanism and not to harass the migrants on one pretext or the other.
Prof Sadhu also raised the issue of improving living conditions in migrant camps of Jagti, Nagrota, Purkhoo, Muthi and Buta Nagar. He demanded the issuance of RBA certificates to the displaced people from backward areas of Valley.
Meanwhile general secretary BJP’s Displaced Kashmir Unit Virender Kuchroo has also demanded that interviews for migrant youth be conducted at Jammu and no migrant relief holder be harassed on one pretext or the other as the community has already suffered a lot in last 26 years of displacement.
