SRINAGAR, Nov 13: Rejecting the relief package for flood affected people announced today by the Govt, JKPCC chief GA Mir accused Coalition Govt of ignoring flood affected people of J&K State.
In a press statement issued here today Mir said it is a cruel joke with the flood affected people and is an insult to the injuries of affected people of Jammu and Kashmir. PCC chief said that mere Rs 3 lakh for fully damaged pacca houses, Rs 1.50 lakh for fully damaged kacha houses, 1.00 lakh for severely damaged pacca houses and Rs 50,000 for severely damaged Kacha houses is half -baked relief package and is an insult to the injuries of people who have suffered heavily due to Sept 2014 floods.
A biggest irony on the Part of Coalition Govt led by PDP is that this Govt has betrayed people of Jammu and Kashmir for the sake of coming into power. Tall claims by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed about rehabilitation of flood affected was a political gimmick to secure votes from the people in Valley.
Keeping in view all aspects with regard to intensity of damages caused to houses and business establishment due to Sept 2014 deluge, Congress Party had projected a demand of Rs10 lacks for fully damages houses, 6 lakhs for severely damaged houses and Rs 3 lakh for partially damaged houses with the Central Govt, but the PDP led Coalition Govt let down the people in every respects and has triggered a sense of insecurity among the victims leaving them humiliated, he said.
Recalling the Uttrakhand tragedy, PCC chief said that UPA Govt provided Rs 8 lakh for fully damaged houses, 6 lakh to severely damaged and Rs 3 lakh for partially damaged houses, but the package announced by Mufti Sayeed today is a complete deception and jugglery of words by State’s Finance Minister.
