Migrant labourers held with Rs 8350 stake money

JAMMU, Nov 13: Police arrested six migrant labourers along with Rs 8350 stake money and playing cards from Daskal Morh area, falling under the jurisdiction of Akhnoor police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Akhnoor police station conducted raid in Daskal Morh area last night and nabbed six migrant labourers, who were found indulged in gambling.
From the spot, police recovered Rs 8350 stake money and playing cards.
The accused have been identified as Mohammad Hanief, son of Sahabu, Sajid Ali, son of Abbass Ali, Mohammad Zaqi, son of Mohammad Saleem, Chotee Ali, son of Shamas-ud-Din, Mohammad Shakeel, son of Mohammad Ishtiaq and Naseem, son of Ishaq, all residents of Uttar Pradesh, at present Daskal Morh, Akhnoor.
A case under Section 13 Gambling Act has been registered against them at Akhnoor police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Akhnoor police station Inspector Pushpinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision SDPO Akhnoor Naresh Singh, SP Rural Rajeev Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
