JAMMU, Nov 13: Chairman, Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali today directed the executing agency JKPCC to speed up the construction work on the new Legislature Complex, coming up at a cost of Rs.187 crore at Jammu. The complex which will accommodate both the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council is scheduled to be completed by March 2017.
The Chairman visited the construction site and reviewed the progress on the project. He was accompanied by Secretary, Legislative Council, Abdul Majid Bhat, and other senior officers of the Council and JKPCC. The Chairman was informed that Rs 40 crore has been spent on the execution of the project so far.
Earlier, the Chairman took a review meeting of the officers and officials of the Legislative Council and stressed on further improvement in the work culture.
The Chairman also heard the officials of the Council, who projected their problems, including accommodation issues. The Chairman assured them that their genuine problems would be addressed.
