KISHTWAR, Nov 13: Civil Society Kishtwar in its meeting here today held under the chairmanship of Shamsher Singh Bhandari Congress leader has demanded that the Chenab Valley be provided due attention in development under the various developmental projects to be started in the State under PM’s package.
The meeting said that the Chenab Valley despite having a lot of potential of generating hydro electricity has been neglected and people here still live in abject poverty. Mr Bhandari demanded that the power potential of the area be exploited by taking up the new power projects in hand besides the new road linking projects for the entire Valley be started to link the far-flung and remote villages to the rest of the State.
Mr Bhandari also demanded construction of four lane road from Batote to Kishtwar and intensifying the work on other road projects which have already been taken into hand over the years back.
