Srinagar, Nov 13: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today arrested two persons accused in the attack on a Border Security Force (BSF) convoy at Udhampur in August this year.
The NIA team along with the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested Khursheed Ahmed Ittoo and Fayaz Ahmed Ittoo alias Fayaz Welder from South Kashmir.
The investigations conducted by the NIA reveals that Khursheed Ahmed Ittoo used his Maruti-800 car as pilot vehicle of the truck in which militants Mohammed Naved and Mohammad Noman travelled from Kulgam to Udhampur to execute the attack on the BSF convoy in August this year.
The NIA officials said that the entire conspiracy of Udhampur attack was executed in the house of Fayaz Ahmad alias Welder in Khudwani.
The NIA would produce Fayaz and Khursheed before the Special court and seek orders for their custodial interrogation.
The revelations about their involvement in the attack were made by Mohammad Naved who was captured in Udhampur soon after attack while he was trying to escape on August 5 this year.
The mastermind behind the Udhampur attack and Lashkar-e-Toiba top commander, Abu Qasim was killed last month during a gun battle in Kulgam. However, his deputy Abu Dujana is still at large.
Police have arrested around 10 persons in connection with the Uhdampur attack case and handed them over to NIA for interrogation.
