Srinagar, Nov 14: Army today flagged off an educational-cum-motivational tour for the children of Kangan and Manasbal areas of central Kashmir’s Ganderba district to various cities of the country.
A defence spokesman said the children would be taken to Chandigarh, Kasauli, Chail, Shimla and would return on November 21.
“The tour was flagged off by the Commander of a Rashtriya Rifles unit based at Manasbal,” he said, adding: “the tour aims to expose these young impressionable minds to the world outside the valley, providing opportunities for interaction with the people to increase awareness and understanding and thereby enabling them to identify more closely with their fellow countrymen.”
During the tour, the students will be visiting various places of historical importance and tourist destinations. “Educational Institutes to be visited include Army Institute of Law, Mohali, Military School, Chail and Indian Institute of Advance Studies,” he said.
