Shamsher inaugurates development works

JAMMU, Nov 14: Rajya Sabha Member, Shamsher Singh Manhas, today inaugurated newly constructed road at village Karodma of Panchayat Seri Panditan in Bhalwal Block of Raipur-Domana constituency and two lanes and a power transformer in village Satraian of Suchetgarh constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Manhas said that people of this remote area lack basic facilities like road, electricity and drinking water. “Being remote area of Jammu district successive Governments of the State since independence failed to develop and cater to the basic needs of the people”, he said.
He said that the people of Seri Panditan Panchayat approached him for construction of this road and protection work of the area. “As the demand was genuine, I immediately released an amount of Rs four lakh for construction of the road from his MPLAD Fund”, he said adding 1st phase of under construction PMGSY road to Kadorma has been completed and very soon the work on 2nd phase will be started.
Shamsher said that both State and Central Government is committed for development of the State, adding that many development works have been started and many are in pipeline.
On local populace’s complaint of acute scarcity of drinking water in the area, the RS MP assured them of installing hand pumps on priority basis besides a tubewell.
Later, Shamsher inaugurated development works of two lanes at Village Talle of Satraian of Suchetgarh Constituency for which he had released an amount of Rs 10.70 lakh. He also inaugurated a transformer of 250 KV installed at a cost of Rs 8 lakh in village Satraian.
