Bid to smuggle bovines foiled, one arrested

UDHAMPUR, Nov 14: Chenani police foiled a bid to smuggle 20 bovine animals to Valley by arresting one person.
As per police sources, during the intervening night of November 13 and 14, a police team from Chenani police station intercepted a person carrying flock of bovines towards Valley near Kud Nallah.
During questioning, the person failed to give satisfactory reply and was arrested on the spot. From his possession, police rescued 20 bovine animals.
The accused has been identified as Ali Hussain, son of Alaf Din of Kousar, tehsil Chenani. Two other persons, who were with the accused escaped from the spot taking benefit of the darkness.
A case under FIR Number 104/15 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered against the accused and his two associates at Chenani police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Chenani police station Inspector Mahesh Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Chenani Vinod Sharma and SSP Udhampur Suleman Chowdhary.
