The conclave is slated to deliberate upon ‘Lessons from Civilizations’ in a deeply intellectual pursuit involving many well-known personalities from India and abroad. Among others who are  reported to be scheduled to speak are US based political commentator Daniel Pipes, Tarek Ramadan, the grandson of Hasan Banah, founder of the Muslim Brotherhood and Tark Fateh, the Canada based commentator and communicator who campaigns against Radical Islam.
Among Indian speakers are Defence Minister, Manohar Parrikar, ex-CM of Goa, Jayant Sinha, MoS Finance, Lakshmikant Parsekar, Chief Minister of Goa, Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and Nirmala Sitharaman, MoS Commerce.
Of particular interest is the slated keynote address on November 16 by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir on the subject ‘Kashmiriyat, Jamhooriyat Insaaniyat’, the famous slogan given by former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee which was reiterated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Srinagar on November 7 this year.
Interestingly, the session of the J&K Chief Minister is being chaired by Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain (Retd), who is well known in J&K for his successful tenure as GOC of the Srinagar based 15 Corps in which many of the aspects of the slogan were implemented.
Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s speech will be keenly followed in the State and elsewhere in India coming so soon after the Prime Minister’s reiteration of the slogan. The conclave is also due to discuss numerous social and economic  issues relevant in India, from gender issues to poverty alleviation and radicalism, and identity politics to digitization.
