RAJOURI, Nov 15: A minor boy was killed in an accidental gun fire in the house of a Village Defence Committee (VDC) member in remote Dharmsal area of Kalakote this afternoon.
Police sources said that mishap took place at around 3.30 pm today when the boy was fiddling with the loaded gun of his father, Ranjit Singh, a VDC member hailing from Narla village in Khawas area of Kalakote. Hearing the sound of gun fire, the family members rushed inside the saw three and half year old Umeshwar Singh in a pool of blood. The bullet had pierced through one side of his neck.
The boy was rushed to Taryath hospital, from where he was referred to Govt Medical College Hospital Jammu but he died on the way. Dharamsal police seized the gun and registered a case in this connection.
