KVM reviews status of development projects

KATHUA, Nov 15:  The members of  Kathua Vikas Manch today reviewed the status of various ongoing projects in the Kandi belt and the progress achieved on them.
In the general body meeting of  KVM held here today under the chairmanship of  Prof  Ram Murti Sharma in presence of Charanjit Singh, Ex- MLA Kathua, the speakers reviewed the current status of activities already undertaken by the Manch, exploring ways and means for taking the issues lying in the pipeline to a conclusive stage, identification- cum- prioritization  of new development related projects to be undertaken by the Manch in near future.
The speakers expressed satisfaction over the ongoing construction work of  Kendriya Vidyalaya Kathua, installation of electric poles in the divider portion of link road from Hatli Morh to Shastri Nagar  and sanction of  bridge over river Ujh near Jathana. They appreciated the efforts of LSDA for initiating the formulation of DPRs regarding promotion of tourism in Baba Sidhgoria Shrine and Mata Chintpurni in the Billawar constituency and exploring avenues for tourism promotion in Mehtab Garh & Hatli villages.
The participants stressed for creation of separate hilly district comprising of  Billawar, Basohli and Bani. The demand of simplification of PRC issuance procedure and proper review of demarcation of RBA was also reiterated in the meeting.  A concern regarding ban on the use of polythene bags and conservation of erstwhile ponds and their utility as recreation parks was also expressed during the meeting. They also demanded special Kandi road project from Basantpur to Danni- Bakhta covering densely populated villages of the Kandi belt. The speakers expressed their concern regarding the increase in drug addiction, insanitation, stray animals menace in the town.
