Srinagar, Nov 17: Post Graduate (PG) doctors at Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital today called off their strike and resumed work after assurance from top officials.
The PG doctors were on strike since Saturday last week against overburdened duty in wake of staff shortage at Triage Ward and Medicinal Intensive Care Unit (ICU). However after official assurance today the doctors called off their strike.
Meanwhile, sources said the five Assistant Surgeons today joined the duties at Triage Ward and Medicinal ICU in the SMHS. Sources further stated that Health Minister Lal Singh also visited the hospital today and took stock of the situation which had arisen after strike by doctors.
