Srinagar, Nov 17: Police today said it arrested a drug peddler and recovered forty kilograms of Poppy Straw from his possession in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
A police spokesman said a Tata mobile vehicle-bearing registration number JK03C-4319 was intercepted during checking in Devsar area of the district. “On checking, 40 kilograms of poppy straw packed in seven bags was recovered from the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle Abdul Rashid was arrested and a case under FIR number 71/2015 under section 88/15 NDPS Act was registered against him,” the spokesman added.
