RAJOURI, Nov 17: Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar today conducted surprise check of Government schools in Nowshera constituency and took stock of the infrastructure and other facilities at these schools.
During the surprise inspection, the Minister visited Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Sunderbani, Government Higher Secondary School Lamberi and Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Nowshera.
MLA Nowshera, Ravinder Raina, Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Shabir Ahmed Bhat, SSP Rajouri, Rajeshwar Singh, SC R&B, Majeed Wani, SDM Harbans Lal, Tehsildar, Pankaj Sasan alongwith other district and sectoral officers accompanied the Minister during his visit.
The Minister interacted with the teachers and the students to inquire about how to improve the educational standards in these institutions.
At Boys Higher Secondary School, Nowshera, the Minister ordered for attachment of concerned Principal for below average academic performance of the institute. He directed that the charge of the school will remain with Deputy Chief Education Officer, Rajouri.
The Minister also visited sub-district hospital Sunderbani and Nowshera and took round of the different wards. He asked the concerned Medical Officers and their team to work for the betterment of the healthcare.
While inspecting the ongoing construction work at SDH Sunderbani and Nowshera, the Minister stressed upon the concerned to gear up their men and machinery to ensure timely completion of these projects.

Expressing dismay over the dilapidated condition of veterinary hospital building at Sunderbani, the Minister asked Deputy Commissioner Rajouri to identify separate land for construction of a new building for the hospital.
Earlier, the Minister convened a joint meeting of district administration and prominent citizens of the area at Dak Bungalow, Nowshera to take their feedback about the various ongoing developmental works in Nowshera constituency.
Responding to the demand of the locals, the Minister announced to start classes for science stream at Boys Higher Secondary School, Nowshera from next academic session. He directed SDM Nowshera to regularly monitor the functioning of schools in his jurisdiction and ensure to increase their academic performance.
Earlier a deputation called on Education Minister and put forth the problem of staff shortage in peripheral schools of Sunderbani and Nowshera area. The Education Minister gave a patient hearing to the deputations and issued directions to the Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri and Chief Education Officer, Rajouri to chalk out an effective mechanism for proper rationalization of manpower available with the department to deal with the paucity of staff.
