JAMMU, Nov 19: Speaker of Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta inaugurated ‘Trade Fair-cum-Exhibition-cum-Sale’ being organised at Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar in an impressive function, here today.
Accompanied by the BJP leader Anil Sharma, the Speaker went around all the stalls and inspected the goods displayed by the vendors at the Trade Fair.
He appreciated the goods put on display by traders and said that such events not only generate employment but also give an alternate space to the people for shopping and spending some time with their families. He also exhorted upon them to organize more such events in future also.
The items displayed in the trade fair are crockery, kitchenware items, footwear, bamboo furniture readymade garments, toys, lady’s suit, sweaters, jackets, gift items, roti maker, melamine crockery, food stalls and amusement items for kids.
Earlier, Arun Sharma on behalf of event organizers briefed the Speaker about various commodities displayed in the trade fair by the traders from various parts of the country as well as State.
He disclosed that they had not only been providing employment to local youth but also giving an alternate to the people of the ‘City of Temples’ for shopping.
