JAMMU, Nov 20: Director General, Accounts and Treasuries, Altaf Hassan Mirza convened a meeting to review the functioning of the treasuries of Jammu province here today.
Director Accounts and Treasuries Jammu and representative of Accountant General, Vice President J&K Bank and Principal System Analyst NIC and other officers were present in the meeting.
The Director General said that efficient functioning of the Treasury reflects the good image of the Government and emphasized the need of strict adherence to the norms, guidelines and instructions issued by the Government from time to time in this regard. He stressed that the Treasury Officers should strictly adhere to the Treasury Code as the Treasuries are the financial face of the Government and custodian of the public exchequer.
Mirza directed Treasury Officers to strictly maintain the Budget Control Register and in no case allow any DDO to exceed the budget allocation. He also stressed on uploading the NPS amounts and transfer the amount by or before 15th of every month to Axis Bank.
