Traffic on Srinagar-Muzaffarbad road suspended

 

SRINAGAR:Traffic on Srinagar-Muzaffarbad, capital of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) road was suspended after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was detected this morning, official sources said.

They said a Road Opening Party (ROP) detected an IED, wrapped in a cloth on the roadside at Narbal, about 15 km from here on the road this morning. Traffic was suspended from both sides, they said, adding that the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was summoned.

Efforts are being made to defuse the IED, they said.          Hundreds of vehicles were stranded on both sides of the busy road. Vehicles coming from north Kashmir were stopped at Narbal while those from Srinagar at Shalteang.      Details are awaited, they said.
