NEW DELHI, Nov 21: Cardamom prices were higher up to Rs 25 per kg in the national capital today in view of pick-up in demand from retailers and stockists against restricted supplies from producing belts.
Cardamom brown (jhundiwali and kanchicut) prices rose up to Rs 25 to conclude at Rs 1,400-1,410 and Rs 1,490-1,825 per kg, respectively.
Marketmen said rising demand from retailers and stockists against restricted supplies from producing belts mainly led to rise in cardamom prices.
Following are today’s quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 150-190, black pepper (per kg) 755-925, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,400-1,410 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,490-1,825.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 600-725, cardamom (colour robin) 580-590, cardamom bold 600-610, cardamom extra (bold) 680-690 and cloves 600-720. (PTI)
