NEW DELHI, Nov 21: Rice basmati prices extended gains for yet another day by gaining up to Rs 300 per quintal at the wholesale grain market today on increased buying by stockists against tight supplies from producing regions.
However, barley declined on reduced offtake by consuming industries.
Traders said persistent buying by stockists against restricted supplies from producing regions, mainly kept rice basmati prices higher.
Reports of a likely fall in kharif output further fuelled the uptrend, they said.
