Angchok reviews functioning of Lakhanpur Toll Plaza

JAMMU, Nov 21: T. Angchok, Excise Commissioner visited the Toll Plaza Lakhanpur and Minor Toll Posts and reviewed the functioning and other works of Excise Department.
At Toll Post Nagri, he had a detailed meeting with XEn R&B Kathua and took stock of the developmental works. He directed XEn to complete the left over works especially the macdamization of the yard and completion of the residential quarters of Toll Plaza Nagri at the earliest.  He also issued directions to the staff to remain vigilant and improve the enforcement activities at the minor Toll Posts in addition to their primary job of revenue collection.
While taking stock of the developmental works at Toll Plaza Lakhanpur, he directed the R&B authorities to immediately take the works for upgradation of yard in export and diversions to the parking yard at the New Toll Plaza.
Rajesh Sharma, Deputy Excise Commissioner, Toll Post Lakhanpur, while giving an overview of the functioning of the Toll Post conveyed that there has been an increase of 15.63% upto November 15 as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Similarly an amount of Rs.20.25 lakh has been recovered from Tax evaders and 21899 pieces of willow clefts, 15160 kgs of polythene, 20525 kgs  of minor forest  produce and 2441/168 bottles of IMFL/Beer have also been seized.
The Excise Commissioner exhorted the staff to perform their duties with utmost dedication and honesty to achieve the revenue target in full.  He further impressed upon the staff posted at the Toll Post to ensure hassle free clearance of the vehicles to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic and ensure that the commuters/drivers are not put to any inconvenience.
