This has reference to the news item ‘Blessed to be in Kashmir ‘ DE Aug 29.
The presence of Bollywood actors in the Kashmir valley will again bring back the charming scenery in Hindi movies.
The tourist industry in the State suffered a severe setback during militancy in the State. As a result, Bollywood explored other scenic destinations in the world.
Switzerland, Australia, and New Zealand emerged favourite destinations. Large amount of money was involved in these pursuits. In case Kashmir had been normal, this money could have flowed towards this State.
The Tourism Industry should also focus on scenic destination in Jammu region. The presence of Bollywood in Jammu could give a great filip to tourism activities here. The Jammu region is also dotted with numerous destinations which if explored can be favourite destinations in the future. The Jammu people associated with tourism sector should try to rope in Bollywood for this purpose.
