Book on Gosain Gund Ashram of Swami Atmaramji released

JAMMU, Nov 22: Svarg, a book detailing the work and traditions of Swami Atmaramji Ashram Gosain Gund was released today during the annual Jag of Swami Atmaramji at Swami Atmaramji Ashram, Bohri.
The book based on the narration by Mahatma Prem Nathji and late Mahatma Prithvi Nath, has been written by Maharaj Krishan Bhat and published by the Swami Atmaramji Ashram Memorial Trust. The book was released by Mahatma Prem Nathji and Swami Kumarji of Gita Satsang Ashram.
MK Santoshi and Pradeep Khodbali, who had helped in shaping the book, were also present on the occasion. The proceedings were conducted by Dr R L Bhat, president of Swami Atmaramji Memorial Trust managing the Ashram affairs in Kashmir and Jammu.
The book gives history of Gosain Gund Ashram, which is situated at the picturesque hills in the vicinity of the famous tourist spots Kokarnag and Verinag, in Doru tehsil of Anantnag district. The ashram was established some four centuries ago.
The ashram was since ancient times the first paddaav for the Shri amarnaathji Yatris. Saints and mendicants, called Gosain in Kashmiri, used to stay at the ashram on their way to the holy Ice Lingam in Shri Amarnaathji cave and after having performed the darshana at the cave.
Earlier, Surendra Ambardar MLC and Kashmiri Lal Bhat of PNBMT visited the Ashram at Bohri in connection with the Jag of Svami Atmaramji, which was attended by a large number of devotees from Kashmir and Jammu.
