1074 vehicles seized, 4835 challaned

Srinagar, Nov 22: Police today said it have seized 1074 and challaned 4835 vehicles in different districts of valley in its drive against traffic violators.
A police spokesman said they police in Valley have reiterated that certain measures have to be adopted by the drivers and commuters for their safety and hassle free traffic movement, which include wearing a helmet, avoiding overtaking, control over speed, avoiding triple riding, wearing seat belts, avoiding driving on the wrong side, avoiding use of tinted glasses, avoiding drink driving, halting vehicles on pedestrian crossings and avoid use of cell phones while driving etcetera.
“It has once again requested the people particularly the drivers and vehicle owners to obey the traffic rules and co-operate with the Police for smooth and hassle free movement of traffic on roads,” the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, in order to make policemen particularly investigating officer aware about traffic and post accident medico-legal management, police organized a seminar in District Police lines Bandipora, the spokesman added.
