JAMMU, Nov 23: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has appealed the Prime Minister of India to immediately convene a meeting of all Chief Ministers (CMs) of the country to deliberate upon the issues arising out of the implementation of 7th Pay Commission (PC).
Addressing a one day convention of NMC workers at village Bomyal, NMC president, Subhash Shastri, said that the 7th Pay Commission Report is round the corner and its recommendations are likely to be accepted and effected from January 2016, therefore it becomes imperative to arrive at a consensus to work off financial emergencies.
He urged PM Narendra Modi to make provision of sufficient funds to be placed with CMs to ward off resultant imbalance in case the State Governments fail to implement the recommendations of the Pay Commission for their employees so that simultaneous implementation takes place with employees and pensioners of Central as well as State Governments.
Shastri apprehended that the failure of the State Governments to implement the recommendations will pave way for confrontations with employees which in turn will be detrimental to the progress of the States.
He hoped that J&K Government headed by Mufti Mohd Sayeed will be the first State in the Country to effect speedy implementation of 7th Pay Commission Report and the State should reflect its financial needs to Centre in advance.
Several resolution were adopted in the convention including early regularization of 61000 daily rated workers working in various Government departments besides release of all pending dues, sanctioning 6% DA due from July last in favour of the employees and pensioners, and enhancing medical allowances to Rs 1000 per month.
