ADC reviews pace of cable TV digitization

JAMMU, Nov 26: Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Rifat Kohli today convened a meeting of the District Level Monitoring Committee, to review the progress of digitization of existing Cable TV Operator Network to the Digital Addressable System in the district.
Stressing for early replacement of Analog Cable Operation System by Digital Addressable System (DAS) in the district, ADC said that the deadline for complete digitalization in the district should be strictly adhered to. She also emphasized the need for launching an awareness drive among the consumers and close coordination between the concerned department and cable operators.
The concerned agencies informed that so far 62% of digitization process has been completed in the district and steps are afoot to pace up the entire process to meet the deadline.
During the meeting certain issues and problems raised by Cable TV Operators were also discussed comprehensively. Regarding the rates of Set Top Boxes, ADC directed the concerned to maintain uniform rate. She also directed for expediting the formalities for early registration of all the unregistered cable operators in the district
The meeting was attended by Anjali Sharma, Director DDK Jammu, Prof. Kaushal Samotra Principal Govt. College of Education, Rattan Lal Sr. Superintendent of Post Offices Jammu and representatives of Local Cable Operators of the district.
