KATRA, Nov 26: Local youth of Katra town and adjoining areas today held a protest demonstration demanding reservation for them in employment in Mata Vaishno Devi Board and highlighting other issues.
Shouting slogans, the protesting locals staged a dharna and blocked the main road of Katra for some time.
Besides reservation to local youths for employment in the Shrine Board, they were also demanding proper channel zing of the Helicopter service and no VIP treatment for the relatives and employees of Shrine Board employees who visit Katra to pay obeisance.
The protesting youth also opposed complete handing over of Municipal Committee Katra to the Shrine Board.
They were pacified only after officials from local administration came and assured that their demands would be taken up with higher authorities for the early redressal.
