Bovines smuggling den busted; 7 cattle rescued, 2 arrested

JAMMU, Nov 26: Nagrota police busted a bovines smuggling den with the arrest of two notorious cattle smugglers and by rescuing 7 milch animals, which they were trying to smuggle to Valley.
As per police sources, on reliable information, police team from Nagrota police station conducted raid at Kour Jagir area and busted a bovines smuggling den by rescuing 7 milch animals.
Two persons were arrested on the spot and a motorcycle without registration number was also seized. However, two Mahindra vehicles managed to escape from the spot.
The accused have been identified as Kayian, son of Ilam Din and Mohammad Latif, son of Kayian, both residents of Gho Manhasan.
The modus operandi of the smugglers was that they bring the bovines from various parts of the State to Kour Jagir and further smuggle the bovines to Valley by various means. With the busting of the bovines smuggling den, Nagrota police achieved a major success of curbing smuggling of bovines to Valley.
A case under FIR Number 273/15 under Section 188 RPC has been registered at police station Nagrota and manhunt has been launched to nab the person involved in this racket.
The whole operation was carried out by SHO Nagrota police station Inspector Karan Chalotra under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma, SP Rural Rajeev Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
