Bovine smuggler detained under PSA

SAMBA, Aug 30: A notorious bovine smuggler Mohd Iqbal, son of  Noor Ali of Madhera village near Basantar river has been detained under Public Safety Act by the District Magistrate Samba, Mubarak Singh.
On the basis of dossier forwarded by SSP Samba Israr Khan, regarding Mohd Iqbal’s involvement in several cases of bovine animals smuggling, leading to violent protests by the general public and blockade of road, the District Magistrate detained him under Public Safety Act.
According to police reports, this man was repeatedly indulging in such incidents since 2010 and was also warned on several occasions. He was involved in case FIR No. 158/ 2010 at P S Samba , 40/2012 at PS Ghagwal  and 70/2012 at PS Ghagwal. He was also once caught red handed while stealing a cow and calf of a villager and it had led to violent protest.
