JAMMU, Nov 29: Thousands of activists of Shiv Sena (Bala Ji Sahib Thackeray) today gathered here at Indira Chowk and burnt effigy of National Conference leader and former Chief Minister of State, Farooq Abdullah, for his anti-India statements.
The protest demonstration was held under the dynamic leadership of State president of Shiv Sena (Bala Ji Sahib Thackeray), Dimpy Kohli.
While addressing the protesting activists, Dimpy Kohli sought an apology from Farooq Abdullah for his remarks that ‘PoK is part of Pakistan’, and said he was “deliberately raking up” the issue in order to remain in news for his political survival.
He said that Dr Abdullah is either suffering from amnesia or deliberately raking up the settled issue in order to remain in news.
Kohli strongly condemned the statement of the NC patron that “PoK is part of Pakistan” and will remain with it while India will continue to control its part of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that Maharaja Hari Singh while signing the Instrument of Accession made the whole of Jammu and Kashmir, under his control, part of the Dominion of India.
Kohli said Farooq Abdullah’s father Sheikh Abdullah had even endorsed the accession of Jammu and Kashmir to India.
He said that our cunning neighbour Pakistan was an aggressor which forcibly occupied the part of Jammu and Kashmir that is presently under its occupation and that it was India which took up the matter with the UN Security Council.
Kohli added that Indian Parliament, in a resolution in 1994, unanimously resolved its determination to get vacated PoK, from illegal occupation of Pakistan. “Abdullah by his uncalled-for statement has acted against the resolution and harmed the interest of the nation and weakened India’s position on the J&K issue,” he pointed out.
He said that Dr Farooq must apologize to the nation for his blunder and set things in the right perspective.
