After hearing Advocate Ajay Sharma appearing for the petitioner whereas Advocate General Jahangir Iqbal Ganai with AAG WS Nargal appearing for the State and Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi with Advocate Veenu Gupta appearing for the main PIL, DB observed, “report be called from the Principal District Judge, Jammu regarding the steps taken for removal/disposal of the combustible detonators, explosive substance/grenades and other articles from Malkhana”.
To allay fear of the petitioner regarding security threat posed by the under trials and those who come to meet them, the DB directed Principal District Judge, Jammu to ensure that all the under trials while bringing to the court premises in the morning are put in the lock up and produced before the court only when their cases are taken up.
“Principal District Judge, Jammu shall also ensure that no meeting between the under trials and their relatives/ visitors takes place in the corridor or within the District Court Complex. He shall file compliance report in this regard”, the DB further directed.
